Mayor Ronnie Clark presented his “to do” list to the members of the Carlisle City Council at Monday night’s regular monthly meeting of the council. The list contains 18 items that the mayor says need to be addressed when the necessary funding is available.

 | Theft of cans has effect on services to senior citizens |
Recycling is important. It’s important not only to the environment, but recycling in Nicholas County is also important to our senior citizens. In September, 2003, the Nicholas County Senior Citizen’s Center used activity money to purchase a trailer for their recycling program.

Nicholas County High School Basketball Homecoming for 2007 was celebrated Saturday afternoon during halftime of the Lady Jackets’ game against the girls from Beechwood. The game also was a celebration of sorts as the Lady Jackets defeated the visitors from northern Kentucky by a score of 83-41.

Every year the Jemima Johnson Chapter of the Kentucky Society of Daughters of the American Revolution sponsors art and creative expression contests in grades one to four in the elementary schools in Bourbon, Nicholas, Montgomery counties.

Nicholas County was well represented in Lexington on Saturday, February 3rd, in the Bluegrass State Classic.
The Mini Magic All Stars and the Junior High Cheerleaders both participated, and both brought home trophies.

The Nicholas County Lady Jackets had things going the right way for them last Thursday night when the Lady Cats of Bath County came to town for a basketball game. When the final buzzer sounded, the scoreboard read Nicholas County 61, Bath County 39.
